Triumphant!
Feb. 16th, 2003 08:28 pmI'm so proud of myself, over a relatively small achievement. One of the goals I've had at the gym is an improvement in my sense of balance. Oh, Shawn says I have a very solid balancement, he was totally impressed by the things I could do when we started, and kept the challenge high.
One of the hardest things was with a stability ball. Sitting with my knees braced on the ball and keeping hips raised (or ass OFF the ball) while I did military-shoulder presses with hand-weights.
At best, I could stay balanced for a minute, and then lost it. Tonight, I stayed balanced for 2 sets 20 reps. And, then *I* determined when to release my balance and get off. Complete control the ENTIRE time.
It was just so awesome. So spirtually empowering. A sense of physical control. *grin* I got home a little while ago, hauled out my SMALLER stability ball and tried it again. Yup. I've found my centre, and I've got the knack. Next up, we're gonna work on STANDING on the ball. I think Shawn's nuts on that one, but he swears it can be done.
HEE!
Okay, it's pathetic, but that's my life.
