About this morning's bout of rage

We almost made a half month without my deep desire to mentally snap. Tragically, The Wench ruined the streak.

I'm calmer now. Which, for the rest of the people in the office, is probably a good thing. Note to all existing or future bosses: If you tell your assistant NOT to do something, don't change your tune a week later and come breathing down on the assistant like a dragon. You can't be certain that assistant isn't me and has borderline psychotic episodes.

She has since tried to extend the olive branch. I don't like olives.

NQM Snitched
All that aside, I would like to thank the lovely individual who informed me of an unauthorized posting of NQM. It's been dealt with. And I do sincerely appreciate being informed. The story was a private little creation for friends, it just happened to have blossomed beyond all reasonable boundaries or explanations into the rest of the world. All that said, my experiences of a former fanfiction archive owner tells me that it's best to ensure a full distribution in one or two places, than sporadic distributions in a hundred.

New Orleans
I hope everyone who is interested in going, and has responded to [livejournal.com profile] lawgeekgurl's posts / website has gotten their name in. I'm contacting the hotel tomorrow to give the number of people and secure a rate. At this point, I'm asking to reserve 5-6 rooms. So, review the list, and send out a message if a few of you are doubling up so that I know what my numbers really are. More rooms, the lower the rate, but I'm going to try and get a rate around $99/night if it's humanely possible. Currently, room rates (posted on their website) go for $149.

If you still haven't informed [livejournal.com profile] lawgeekgurl as to your intentions to be in New Orleans, and need for hotel, then get on the ball! Click on www.ceruleanbreezes.com and learn more!

Teachers who Retire
Don't really retire. Not in the public elementary school panel. They have this need to mingle with the rest of their brethren at all times, and to lord over young children. What do I mean? My mother retired last June. Thus far, I don't know a week that has gone by that she's NOT been in the school covering for another teacher for at least 3 days of the given week.

What I don't understand is how ALL these teachers in 4 select schools can be away so much? Where is their work ethic? Where is their commitment to teaching? Where the hell are they?!

Baffles me. And it's bloody hindering awkward to make plans with Mom. She's maybe home, maybe not. Won't know until 8am. GAH! I never thought the day would come when I said "In an emergency, contact my father." But it has. And the Universe holds it's breath in pity for the fool who actually DOES contact my father directly. The man is hopeless on a phone.

Can you buy a backbone AND a clue?
The Royal Family of my company had a new addition last month. The Crown Princess had her baby, and everyone is gaga for the little rug-rat. I have no problem with this.

What I am choking on is that THEY ARE ALL CRAZY. The child is getting bottles every 2 hours, the uncle knows more about the baby's nursing than the mother does, and the grandparents take shifts to see who will be there in the morning to feed and change the nappy, and who will be there in the night.

Okay, it IS their first grandchild -- but people? Their daughter is on mat leave for at least 6 months (she could take a year, by law). And ALREADY you've hired a nanny? Get. A. Grip.

I just don't get it.

And in conclusion...
The show's over. I'm getting back to work. Because in 2 hrs and 10 minutes, I'm going home. Where the insanity that rules in my domicile is of my own making.
