Hot & Sticky with a side of thunder...
Jul. 4th, 2005 07:24 pmSo, I got home feeling tired and hungry but I dutifully took da'Monster for a walk. In the back of my mind, I was hopeful of getting even a mile in of a run, but wiht da'Monster, that is never certain. Still, I went prepared.
A quarter into our 2 mile walk, thunder boomed. My personal thought was "Thank goodness!" 'cause the words hot & sticky don't apply to a cinnamon bun alone! Not today, oh no siree! Hot & sticky applied to how I felt, how the dog felt, and the dribble of sweat down my back. My hair glombed to my face... you get the idea, right?
However, Lucky, also heard the thunder and did his minor twigged-out response of picking up the pace that was formerly lagging seriously. I saw this as a perfect opportunity to ease into a jog-- and jog I did. Jr. didn't figure out anything amiss, so I picked up the pace -- even as thunder boomed -- and Jr. also picked up his pace.
All in all, I got a good 1.5 miles in. And in 20 minutes. I'm pleased. And da'Monster? Poor baby is sprawled on my kitchen floor panting Apparently, he's has a busy day. L next door also took him out this afternoon for a big romp, and Mom was over at noon to take him out.
Heh. Small leeetle walk before bed, methinks. And we're done for the night.
Now, if only I could decide.. broccoli or wild grain rice... hrm.
