Reno Addict
Oct. 9th, 2006 05:57 pmI may be a wee bit addicted to home renovations.
Yep. I it's very likely I'm hooked on turning this house into the best damn house in this community.
To Do (Soon!):
New Carpets in halls / stairs, all 3 flights -- $3000
Bathroom -- Ripping it out in November. Right down to the studs around the tub, and new subfloor. New tub, new tiles, but keeping the toilet. Still debating the sink. I've 3 weeks to figure out the sink. Approximate cost -- $3500
KITCHEN! Okay, this is ALL my brother's fault. He said we should treat ourselves to a dishwasher for Christmas. Like that was a hard sell! Ha! But, that means ripping out a cabinet... and since I hate my cabinets... and IKEA has a kitchen planner program, we now have two variations... cost (at worst) $3500 + flooring ($1200)
Now, will I be buying these cabinets? Hell no... I have wood-worker Papa on the side... NEW KITCHEN! I think it's going to Kitchen A (so that I don't have to figure a way to move the stove to another wall, and then the exhaust fan... anyhoo.
I'm going to the bank on Wednesday night for the re-financing using my equity in the house to do all this. 'Cause I'm keeerazy.
In other news... the brakes are going to be $1200. *sigh* I'm still hoping to squeeze $200 out of my world to go to Boston on the 20th, but until I can get my mechanic to get back to me on a less expensive option, I can't book my ticket. Gah.
