Ah, life...
Mar. 25th, 2007 11:50 amMy, what a busy world I live in. Between having a lovely visit from Ozlady and her girl, and working my little arse off, my new hobby and my busy social calendar, it's been hard to find time to go online.
Is this a bad thing? I think not.
My newest hobby is expanding my repetoire of recipes. Parmesan Tilapia, Asparagus and Orange salad, Poached salmon on veggies, five-spice duck breast with duck confit dumplings, and Rustic French Rub (leg of lamb).
Tonight, I'm making Herb Souffles. My only challenge, finding chervil.
The nice thing about 'take back the kitchen' spree I'm on? Healthier leftovers for lunch. Although, last night, there wasn't a scrap left. (So, I'm making a single-serving right now for tomorrow's lunch).
Baby bro bought me a new set of knives for this spree I'm enjoying -- except though he tried, he bought the wrong set. All good, I'm just going to replace two of the knives quietly. My Chef's knife and the Santoku knife in the new set are not-quite-right. But, he tried.
And what have I learned from having a new set of knives and my urge to chop, slice, garnish, etc? I need a granite countertop. I NEED granite.
Or Silestone.
I digress... Any one in the Greater Toronto Area who knows a grocery store carring chervil, let me know. Sobey's, Loblaws, and A&P sure don't.
