Withdrawal
Sep. 8th, 2003 09:55 amSo. The withdrawal pains (of not having the internet at home) are coming along nicely. I should be institutionalized by the end of this week.
Leaving for New Jersey / New York tomorrow on a whirlwind business trip tomorrow afternoon. We have the Curtis dinner on Tuesday night, a full day of meetings on Wednesday, a 10am meeting with Hudson News, a planned store tour with the director of operations, US, and we fly out early on Friday.
Who is we? The Wench and myself. Oh. Joy.
And yes, I did ask if I could not go. I pled, bartered, pleaded, and made up some (good) excuses. But, what did I get told? "Don't be silly! It'll be fun!" Ugh. Shoot me.
So. In other news --well, not new but I still want to toot my own horn. I did these kick-ass CD's for the Wench's stepdaughter's weddding. Not to be immodest -- ah to hell with it -- I rock. They were STUNNING. Labels, the jewel-case insert, the entire thing. It all had a colour-scheme, an image base flow (daisies), and just looked polished. Not bad for a rank amateur.
My mother is enjoying teaching Grade 4/5. She's not sure what she's teaching, though, since she's been a little lax in reading up on the curriculum she's supposed to teach. Since this is her final stint as a teacher before retirement, I guess it's understandable but not laudable. I kicked her ass into gear and we got her Social Studies (Life systems) unit whipped together.
Little brother MAY have a job interview. I don't understand how that works, but eh.
CSI-Season II DVD's were in the video-shop yesterday when I walked in. *whimper*. $55.00. *Whimper* I don't think I can hold out. But, hey, saw the Alias DVD's too.
Lastly, I started on my Christmas projects last night. That's right. The knitting needles came out, and though it took me over an hour to 'cast on', I successfully managed. The world should tremble in fear.
